“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
1 Peter 2:9
I believe that we as Christians should not keep our faith separate from our fiction. Rather, we should strive to weave the gospel and the truth of the Bible into our writing in a natural yet impactful way.
My goal on this blog is to help aspiring authors (like myself) to learn how to include their faith in their writing. I draw from good-quality Christian fiction (yes, there is such a thing)—as well as some secular books and movies—to exhibit the correct way to write a story with a clear message.
I also provide examples from the Bible itself. Believe it or not, it is full of layered characters, complex plots, profound allegories, elegant poetry, and brilliant foreshadowing. And if you want to write from a Christian standpoint, what better place to start than God’s own Word?
So I would like to invite you to join me in exploring the vastness and beauty of storytelling… you might be surprised at what we discover. It is my prayer that, together, we would use our writing to spread the truth of God’s Word to the world.
