Today, I\u2019m going to share with you the story behind my first book, \u201cThe Price of Blood,\u201d and why I decided to write it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a teen, I always struggled to find clean and entertaining Christian books. When I was younger, we lived near a library that had a nice selection of books for my age range. But when we moved to another state\u2014and I got older\u2014I began to find that my choices became more limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, there are still clean books out there in the secular realm. And there are also quite a few Christian fiction works available. But I noticed that many of them either glossed over the faith they claimed to represent or tried to cram sermons into the story in an unnatural way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, as a girl, many of the Christian books I found were romances. Now, I don\u2019t mind reading a good love story, but it seemed that every Christian book with a female main character was a romance. There wasn\u2019t a whole lot of diversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, with all of this in mind, I came up with a solution. I was already a writer\u2026 so why not write the book that I wanted to read? One that was full of adventure, yet held a clear message of faith. One that didn\u2019t shy away from the realities of life. One that any Christian young person could read and enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that\u2019s how \u201cThe Price of Blood\u201d was born.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book has changed a lot since I first started writing it, and so have I. But I\u2019ve always tried to keep several goals in mind as I wrote:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. That this book would be honoring to God<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. That I would write the book my younger self would want to read<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. That I would represent excellence in my writing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. That anyone who read this book would have a clear message of faith and the gospel presented to them<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. That I would inspire myself and my readers to action<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    It is my prayer that I have accomplished these goals in \u201cThe Price of Blood,\u201d and that I will continue to accomplish them in every book to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
